Located just outside Reykjavik, Iceland’s Blue Lagoon is a geothermal wonderland: a series of natural hot pools of bright blue seawater set within a black volcanic lava landscape that bubbles and steams like an open air kettle. Famous for its restorative powers, the water does wonders for creaking bones and aching muscles, while the white silica mud it produces is an essential part of the resort’s skin treatment facials or medical psoriasis. A burgeoning spa business has sprung up around the lagoon: guests can get a natural massage at the Blue Lagoon waterfall; a steam bath in the white mud walled caves; access to a sauna with a view of the lagoon; and various body rubs, wraps and massage from trained therapists. When they’ve left you cleansed and healthy don’t forget to buy some Blue Lagoon oil and skin care products to take back with you.

Reviews of Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa

This pool is amazing. You will think that you are literally on another planet. The water is very hot and the pool is used by the locals much in the same way as in the rest of the world would use a beach. I especially recommend you stay until as late as possible, when the sun goes down. Even better, go there when it's snowing!

It was one of the most interesting and relaxing experiences of my life. The massages are fantastic and all take place while you are in the lagoon. I highly recommend this spa experience.
