Chirripó Hill is the highest point in Costa Rica, and as such boasts a biologically diverse range of wildlife that can be found there and there only. Having adapted to the high altitude and their particular, unique ecosystem, their mountain top acts as an island in the clouds, isolating many of them from the rest of the world.
So if you want to investigate the region's rich wildlife, you're going to go to it, because many of the area's endemic species wouldn't survive away from the Chirripó National Park. The high altitudes can take some getting used to, but the adjustment is worth it. On a clear day, from the summit of Chirripó, surrounded by the calls of rare birds, a visitor can see both the Atlantic and Pacific at once.
