London can keep its full English breakfasts, its big greasy plates of egg and bacon, and the US can stick their blueberry muffins and stacks of pancakes and syrup. The best breakfast in the world is also one of the simplest. Because there is truly nothing to compare to a flakey, buttery croissant, warm and plump and golden, accompanied by a strong black shot of Parisian coffee, one sipped from a proper cup and not from a Strabucks-sized ugly mug. Have yours sitting in a pavement cafe, shopping bags around your ankles, a paperback at your elbow. Imagine for a moment you're Juliet Binoche or Jean-Paul Belmondo. Smile. Sip some more.
Take your time, watch the world go by, because after all you're in no rush, the City of Lights and all her treasures are yours to do with as you please.

OMG I love croissants and coffee! I could just sip, sip, sip at the coffee all day. To relax with a nice paperback and a buttery croissant is magnificient!

Wake up at 6am and wander down slowly to the boulangerie. Order croissants and a crusty baguette and then stroll back home, pulling at one of the flakey, buttery croissants as you go. When you get back home, brew a coffee and eat the second croissant followed by spoonfuls of apricot jam on the baguette. This for me is the wonder of France.
