Attracting plaudits left, right and centre, Daniel is the eponymous restaurant from talented French-born chef Daniel Boulud. The flagship restaurant in what is a growing culinary empire akin to Gordon Ramsey’s, its one of New York’s best, a temple to all things yummy. Opened in 1993, this Upper East Side eaterie is truly outstanding. For a start there’s the Venetian style dining room, a lavish and theatrical space, as befits a restaurant that serves modern French cuisine of such a high standard. Boulud’s highly-skilled team are at the top of their game and the menu features such rich delights as morels filled with braised duck. This is food that is neither light on the wallet nor the stomach, but in terms of overall experience, few restaurants even come close to matching it.
