It's almost here again - I have my tickets and I can't wait!
helen27, London 14/6/2007It rains, is full of pretentious clowns and you have to sleep in a tent. What's more you have to pay for the pleasure. Don't do it you fools.
Angry Tom, Bath 19/10/2005I've been twice and no other festival comes close. The first year ('98) it rained heavily on the days leading up to, and throughout the weekend, creating a mud bath which put a bit of a dampener of things. I still had a great time though. The highlight was seeing the fat dancer from Take That finally making something of himself. The next year ('99) was much better - the sun really makes a difference to this festival. You can laze on the grass, get a tan and enjoy everything this living city has to offer. The highlight of that year for me was finally seeing REM, and the Sunday when Travis sang "Why does it always rain on me?" just as it started raining.
Peter O'Flynn, Oxford 23/7/2004Glastonbury is all about the years when it did and the ones where it didn't, and then of course there was the year none of it happened - what am I talking about? Rain. I slogged through two years of it wearing bags over my feet in protest at elevated wellington boot prices. Then, the year after it was so hot I thought I'd had it. Whatever the weather though, Glastonbury is unique and makes the likes of those Carling 'Weekends' look very poor and very commercial. Anyway, I'm off to buy some wellies, I'll see you at the stone circle, I'm the one with the silly hat.
