This family-owned camp in the Sabi Sands on the edge of Kruger National Park has been in operation since the 1930s, but in recent years - in keeping with the chic new aesthetic pioneerd at nearby Singita - it’s stepped up a gear in terms of pampering. Adding to its new afro-chic ebony-and-ivory theme is the state-of-the-art health spa Lalamuka - the Shangaan word for 'unwind.' You can opt for aromatherapy, reflexology, massages, aqua treatments and facials in the spa’s main treatment room or 'as we suggest' take one in the private open-air courtyard of your luxury suite while gazing out at elephant, antelope and those eponymous lions drinking from the Sabi River below you. Who’s King of the Jungle now, Mr Lion?

Reviews of Ivory Lodge

It was wonderful to see Ivory Lodge on your website as we had stayed there previously and felt it was the best place on earth. We were treated like royalty from the time we made our enquiry and all during our stay - we even received a short note after our departure.

We have recommended Lion Sands to all our friends. Wonderful people in a stunning setting with abundant wildlife and plenty to drink. Nothing better; we are planning our return visit - only for longer this time.
