King of comedy? That would be Montreal, which holds the crown for the world's largest comedy festival. Just for Laughs will be twenty six years old in 2008, and every year it attracts the world’s finest comedians all eager to perform at possibly the most important comedy show on the planet. The Edinburgh festival may have the kudos, but Montreal has the clout. Annually attracting some two million fans, the festival boasts over 1,500 shows and features the very best in stand up and sketch comedy. Beer is consumed and punchlines delivered and the festival’s infectiously entertaining spirit transforms the streets of Montreal’s Quartier Latin into a giant comedy club.
