Are you a fan of the 1950s? Well, so is Kate Pierson of the B52s, and she’s turned a seedy and anonymous highway motel in New York State into a celebration of the era, all turquoise Formica and hot pink refrigerators. Each cabin has an individually decorated, uber-kitsch interior and there are also a number of period-appropriate air stream trailers if you fancy staying somewhere a bit roomier. Surrounded by nine acres of woodland, it’s a funky, truly idiosyncratic place to stay. This isn’t a luxury hotel, so don’t expect you’re every whim to be attended to but if you enjoy staying places with a real abundance of character, this may well appeal to you.
