The Louvre and the Musee D’Orsay may be more famous, but for many people their favourite Paris museum is the elegant Rodin Museum. This is partly down to atmosphere – the museum, with its gardens, is one of the most tranquil spots in the city - and partly down to the impressive collection, which features casts of some of the sculptors most famous works.
Housed in Auguste Rodin magnificent 18th-century residence, the museum is spread over two floors and the works on display include some of his most celebrated pieces including The Kiss and St John the Baptist. There is also a selection of works by Rodin’s model and lover, Camille Claudel, which provide a invaluable insight into the couple’s torturous relationship. The museum’s greatest asset is the sculpture garden. Among the trees are numerous sculptures, including the original version of his most famous piece, The Thinker. Escape the urban heat and noise and spend a couple of hours leisurely exploring the museum’s many treasures.

The Musee Rodin is like visiting a beautiful estate with beautiful gardens - it's a nice retreat from the city. It is a very intimate museum and all the famous Rodin sculptures are present. I got the Paris museum pass earlier and was able to breeze right in.
