When you think of the Nile, your mind tends to conjure up images of Egypt and the Pharaohs. But the first 30km of the world’s longest and most evocative river, which begins in Lake Victoria in southern Africa, provides white-water rafting that is as thrilling as anywhere in the world. A company set up in Uganda in June 2005 now offers you and your friends – assuming you’ve got what it takes to face up to the challenge – the chance to tackle the river in an adventure trip that combines beautiful scenery with camping in the bush, and some beer to wash it all down at the end of the day.

Trips can last anything from half a day to 2½, with prices ranging from $75 to $250. But if you agree to the full-day trip, you get a free night thrown in at a local hostelry in Kampala. You’ll be sure to sleep well: rafting on the Nile is as exhausting as it is exhilarating. And it’s an experience you will never forget.

Reviews of Nile River Rafting

This is real rafting! Very professional staff! Excellent experience! As former officer in the Royal Danish Army, I can recommand Nalubale Rafting and will visit them again.

My score:

I was on a one-day trip on the Nile. We started at 10am with breakfast and instruction. When we arrived at the Nile we got all the safety equipment. After getting in the water the first thing we did was get instructions on how to react to difficult situations. And the instructors are so good that you find yourself in a safe position no mater what. So we all just went along the Nile with a big smile, until we saw the waves. But we smiled again afterwards.

And the natural scenery was beautiful. If a person isn’t comfortable with the rafting they can call on the safety boat and still have a good experience.

After a perfect trip we went for a nice barbeque.

We had a super experience when we went rafting for 2 days. Nalubale rafting made a night to remember with the best dinner and service. We slept in brand new tents with mattresses! They found a beautiful spot with super view for our stay. During the 2 days we had a lot of action and fun with very skilled and fun guides who kept us safe and happy. We would go with them any time, and we’re missing the action and the people already.
