Champs de Mars, Paris

The Eiffel Tower is known over the world but is slightly overrated. It is certainly worth it to go up and see the view but do not think that the Eiffel Tower is the only beautiful thing in Paris. After having done this tourist attraction, walk the streets of Paris and try to discover new beauties in the city that never sleeps.
soothingeva, Geneva 07/9/2007I took a friend who was visiting Europe to Paris and going up the Eiffel Tower was definitely the highlight. In fact we ended doing it twice, once in the day and a second time at night, and I can truly say that the experience was completely different each time. I'd recommend it to everyone.
G Han, Ramsgate 06/9/2007There's just so much in Paris of more interest than the tower. Go see it by all means but don't feel you've 'done' Paris just beacuse you have.
elizajane, Toronto 15/6/2007It is true, this City of Light has the reputation of being the most romantic and beautiful of cities and I'm proud to call it "home"! It's rich culture, art, leading fashion, food and outstanding design makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Jaques, Paris 02/2/2007I went to Paris two years ago, on my honeymoon with my wife, She she did not want to go up the tower because she's afraid of heights but I finally convinced her. Undoubtedly it's an amazing construction and it deserves to be acknowledged as one of the new wonders of the world.
PEPE, D.F. 22/4/2006I've been to Paris a couple of times but the last one will always stay with me because my boyfriend proposed to me on top of the Eiffel Tower, how romantic is that? Though he's quite scared of heights, he still came with me to the top floor. We looked around and took pictures and then suddenly he got on his knees and popped the question and obviously I said yes!
This may not be the most original way to propose, but I must say it was the happiest moment of my life.
It's true that Paris is the most romantic city in the world, but it's easy to forget that when you're amongst the pushy crowds at the Tower. I prefer to view it from a distance, from the banks of the Seine.
