London is blessed with some wonderful open spaces, but Regent's Park is arguably the best of the lot. When the sun shines, it is unbeatable: a sprawling boating lake that is a haven for wildlife, a picturesque bandstand offering lunchtime and evening concerts, an atmospheric open-air theatre which operates in the summer months, a bewitching rose garden, a vast grass area for sports and, tucked away in the middle, the world-famous London Zoo.

To spend a day there enjoying all it has to offer, take a picnic and find a spot somewhere on the north side of the lake. If you are in a large group, while away a competitive hour or two with a game of softball on one of the numerous marked-out pitches in the park's north-west corner and then take a boat out on the lake, where the weeping willows at the water's edge add to the atmosphere. Later on, head for the theatre, which is enchantingly lit by lanterns at night.

Reviews of Stroll in Regent's Park

One of the best places to watch sports activities. This park has the best view of green lush lands. In my view one of the best parks in UK London.

We had a nice family day out at Regents Park. We started with the london Zoo (just round the corner) as my 3 year old son was quite eager on that and then later on we settled in at the Park. The Park is so huge and the lovely weather just made things better. The Park was full of people having a great day out, playing cricket, softball, football, many just chilling away! With so much open space, My son just loved it, he was just running all over the park, tripping and then again standing up and running. The Rose garden is quite amazing as well. All in all we had a very good day.

Regent's Park is my favourite London Park. Why?

Because of the beautiful Rose garden and because of the open air theatre which runs during the summer months.

Other cool things around the park are the US Ambassador's House and the London Business School with its classic regency architecture. It is a peaceful park without too many unsavory types so a good place to take the family.
