The world's largest desert extends from Africa's Atlantic Ocean coast in the west, to the Red Sea in the east, and engulfs great swathes of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Mali, Niger, Chad, and the Sudan. It is 5,200 miles long and covers 3,500,000 square miles. But so what? We're going in! Fly out to Marrakech from where your local Berber guides will take you on a trek into the great unknown.
From the Saghro Valley in the Atlas Mountains, where the rock peaks look like the buttes of Arizona's Monument Valley, you take a Jeep past oases and kasbahs to the gateway Sahara town of Zagora. From there you pick up a camel train for a three-day ride into the vastness of the Sahara.
Sharing this awesome experience with strangers, you sleep in tents, eat Berber meals, and gaze in wonder at the pink dunes around Oulad Driss. Before returning, visit the great Ait Benhaddou kasbahs - as seen in the film Gladiator. Easy, really.

Reviews of Sahara Safari
I stayed in a lodge very close to this one. We saw some incredible beasts including lions, puma and about 1000 wildebeast... I remember be woken on the second morning by a lions raw! The people in Kenya are so welcoming as well. Such a good holiday.
