One of Germany’s finest hotels, the Schlosshotel Lerbach epitomises classic, turn-of-the-century country house style.
Sitting amidst 75 acres of beautiful parkland, the elegant castle with its terrace, green shutters and climbing vines, was a private residence for centuries before being converted into a hotel in 1992. Each of its 52 luxury rooms and suites are individually designed, and though they occasionally lay on the chintz a little thickly, they are generously proportioned with views of the park and gardens as an added bonus. (The romantic Tower Suite is a good option for those wanting to make their stay particularly special and memorable.)
The Lerbach has all the onsite facilities one would expect from a hotel of this standard, including a spa and a restaurant, which under the renowned chef Dieter Müller – the man practically reinvented German haute-cuisine - is truly first class. And, in an inspired touch, for those who want to recreate some of the man’s dishes at home there’s also an excellent gourmet cookery school on site.
