Teotihuacán in Mexico Teotihuacán in Mexico

The Aztecs named the ancient city hundreds of years after the fall of the great city and the civilization that built it. They named it “the place where men became gods”, or TeotihuacÁn, though its original name and the name and language of the people who built the city has been lost. Through meticulous excavation, the mysterious culture is gradually being unravelled, but for the moment the city constitutes mainly awe-inspiring ancient architecture and the legends about the cities citizens recorded by later inhabitants. According to legend, it was where the gods assembled to plan the creation of man. The relatively unexplored secrets of ancient Latin American lore takes shape and battles misconceptions, as the estimated population and the achievements left behind suggest a near rival in greatness to ancient Greece, or Egypt, before its fall.

Teotihuacan is a must see in Mexico, we managed to just squeeze it into our itinerary and it was well worth it. Completely magical with so much rich and exciting stories from the past.
