In a culinary slump? Need to be tantalised by food once more? One of the world’s best restaurants in one of the finest cities is waiting for you. Tetsuya’s in Sydney is not what you imagine of Australian food. It serves a sophisticated delicate palate so light it floats across the room. A fusion of French and Japanese ideas and dishes, watched over by an army of impeccably polite, knowledgeable waiters, creates a restaurant to save, save and save again for. Tetsuya Wakuda, who came over the sea from Japan with nothing but a small suitcase in 1982, now creates wonder from natural seasonal flavours and French je ne sais quoi – a degustation menu of ten courses that is begging to be eaten. At the turn of the new century he moved from a small shop to 529 Kent Street – and the awards have continued to pour in. Confit of Ocean trout served with unpasturised ocean trout roe - and the wine list is out of this world.

Reviews of Tetsuya's

We saved up to take our family to Tetsuya's for our 25th wedding anniversary. We wanted a truly wonderful experience. We were given a seperate private dining room with a glassed wall showing vintage champanges lining the racks and subdued lighting. The dining experience is very singular and very refined as we all enjoyed the experience but in totally different tastes some saying it was fragile while others of our party exclaiming about it's boldness. I believe that Tetsuya's is a dining experience that is both seperate and personal to all who dine at this master's table.
