I love Marquee, and have a great time there when I go out. Dress classy, not trashy if you want to go there. ONly the hottest get in.
Chyanne, new york city 25/11/2007Went to Marquee on a Tuesday night. It was sold as the place to be, this being fashion week and all. Despite good bar service, and drinking a number of bottles of vodka between us, it just didn't cut it. Very oversold. Luckily we had a good time entertaining ourselves that night, or it would have been a wasted drink fest.
Guss, Glace Bay, NS 14/9/2007Definitely a very cool spot, and tough to get in. We arrived around midnight on a Saturday, but only got in after around 20 minutes in line. Lots of people weren't allowed in, but that's how those places are. Buy a bottle and get in. I wouldn't call this place the best club in the known universe - I know a few more, even in my home city of Copenhagen, that are better - but overall a very cool experience..
Prince, Denmark 09/8/2007If you like a shallow crowd of wannabes then this is the place for you!
Sexynthcity, NYC 30/6/2007Real New Yorkers, the powerful and connected, simply do not patronize Marquee. Why? Because at the end of the day and despite all the hype, Marquee is simply a club and not a very good one at that. Those seeking to find quintessential club life in New York would be far better off patronizing some of the other venues in the vicinity of Marquee such as Stereo, Retox, Studio Mezmor and Arena, because they do not pretend to be something that they are not.
Beyond the glitz and psuedo exclusivity of Marquee is an organization which believes that as a clubgoer you need to be insulted before being provided with the privilege of access. Marquee insults one's intelligence by selling a false notion of status. Inside you will find a soulless place full of insecure social wannabes. And the doorstaff are the rudest in NYC.
This club is worth all the hype! The ratio of guys to girls is better than any club I have ever been in. Beware bouncers though, they will not let you in unless you look right. Try tipping them...
viinn, Chicago 14/3/2007This place rocks. It's known to have one of the toughest doors in New York, but if you can get inside, you're going to be partying with all sorts of high flying hot people. But always have a backup unless you're lucky enough to score a table!
I've never experienced anything like what I experienced on Thanksgiving Eve. My friends and I had purchased tickets prior to this event and managed to arrive at Marquee relatively early. We waited on line for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour. Although we had guaranteed admission tickets, the bouncers at the door refused to let anyone into the club stating, "we are at full capacity." Full capacity at 10:30 PM? No way. The lines were short and weren't moving and a friend inside claimed the club was empty. Now, Marquee is known for being completely packed, yet short lines were left standing outside in the rain. After an hour, my friends and I left the line after standing at the complete front of the line for over an hour. It's one thing to wait on a line for a club, but to have bouncers who were verbally harrasing the patient, calm people who were freezing and wet was absolutely disrespectul.
jj898, nyc 23/11/2006Brilliant fun in the heart of the city that never sleeps! Would love to go again next time I'm in town.
Anne Christine Dean, Zurich 03/11/2006First time I went, the music was not good. Lot's of 80's music. Second time I went the music was much better. Good for dancing.
splashkpl, new york, ny 15/6/2006What a time.....rubbing elbows with the hottest celebs of NY and the most beautiful women in the world! Marquee offered a variety of atmospheres, from the wild club style dance floor to the laid back side red leather couched lounge.
